Eprom LH


The first series of LH units with porsche number 928.618.123.10 do not have diagnostic features (*). You are not able to connect with the diagnostics tool or Hammer KTS30x to this type of LH unit to read out fault codes, to read the input signals or to perform other tests. You can recognize such module on the cover. On the cover you will see the porsche number and the text "dia". See picture below, the text "dia" in the red circle. If you do NOT see the text "dia", then the LH unit does not support diagnostic features. Do you want to have such features, 928-ecu-repair is able to upgrade the software inside the eprom to a newer version of the software.

Eprom EZK
The first serie of EZK units with porsche number 928.618.124.10 and 928.618.124.11 do not have diagnostic features (*). You are not able to connect with the diagnostics tool or Hammer KTS30x to this type of EZK unit to read out fault codes, to read the input signals or to perform other tests. Same story as the LH ,you can recognize such a EZK module on the cover. On the cover you will see the porsche number and the text "dia". If you do not see the text "dia", the EZK is not supporting diagnostic feautures. Do you want to have such features, 928-ecu-repair is able to upgrade the software inside the eprom to a newer version of the software.

(*) note Porsche started to produce a car with "On Board Diagnostics" in late 1986. The diag feature became available as a standard feature in 1987.
